Are you a good wife?

This is funny. According to a 1955 issue of Housekeeping Weekly this is how a "good" wife behaves. Although I feel most of us should take some of these suggestions into practice, overall I think it is a bit ridiculous especially the parts where the husband can stay out real late and the wife is not to question him.  You betcha I'm going to ask my hubby where he has been if he has been gone all night!  Anyway, thought you might all get a kick out of this.

I agree I think we should all be doing these things!!! Except for the staying out late part lol

The pointers in this article remind me of the book called "Love and Respect" which talks about the cycle of the men needing Respect and the women needing Love. If one is not fulfulled it makes the cycle off kilter and causes problems. I highly recommend this book! So the principles of respecting your husband and treating him like a king is something we should be striving for. There is so much disrespect not only for men but also women in today's society even amoung Christians! This is not right! God calls the HUSBAND to be head of the family and we need to respect that position. We also don't need to forget all the responsibilities that God has placed on our husbands.

I have had this posted on my fridge since I was married three years ago. Just a little reminder of what he should not expect - not as long as I am working too!

Wow, that's pretty over-the-top. Especially "his topics of conversation are more important than yours." Lol.

I borrowed this for my blog and gave you a shout-out. Have a great day!

Haha! Yes, but that was the standard in the day. Can you imagine? Shows how much our society has changed over the years. I do wish I was a bit more organized before my husband comes home. He usually arrives to a messy house, crying kids and a wife full of complaints! oh my! I need to work on that. ;-)

I about fell off the couch when I read the part about "his thoughts are more important then yours" !! I do agree that we (as SAHMs) should let our husbands relax when they first get home from work and not jump all over them about problems. And I do wish my house was a bit cleaner:)

My Mom always tells me that she puts on makeup before my dad gets home from work. She doesn't have a toddler under her feet, though!

My husband would think my body had been inhabited by aliens if I started acting like that!

Sorry, it is not happening in this house! lol

My aunt actually found this and gave it to me in a frame for Christmas. She was trying to be funny. Funny indeed, I agree with the commenter who said that it's a list of what the husband should not expect. ha ha!
