- Drink more water- Our bodies need water to function properly. Water flushes toxins out of vital organs and carries nutrients to your cells. Lack of water can lead to dehydration. Even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired. If you are tired you are less likely to be active, thus weightless is impossible!
- Be active- You do not have to work out at a gym or sweat to an aerobic video to lose weight. You can stay active and healthy by doing simple things such as taking the stairs whenever possible, parking farther away at stores. With this beautiful spring weather make it a goal to take nightly walks around your neighborhood. The main goal is to keep your body moving throughout the day!
- Healthy eating- There is a lot of truth in that old saying "You are what you eat". If you want to live a life full of health and energy, you need to be fueling your body with healthy foods. Try always to choose foods in their natural state. Remember- fresh first, frozen second, canned third. Spring and summer are great for visiting your local farmer's markets. Better yet, plant your own garden! Even apartment dwellers can benefit from a small container garden.
- Sleep- You might not consider sleep as an essential ingredient to weight loss, but it is vitally important! Lack of sleep not only slows your metabolism and effects your overall health, but it also effects your overall mental attitude and energy level the following day. If you are sleepy, you are less likely to do any of the above suggestions. Sleepiness causes laziness both in your activity level and decision making.
