Engaging your toddler

Just like our toddlers and preschoolers, we mommas are always busy. Going from one thing to the next with little to no rest in between describes most of our days doesn't it? And with so much in common with our youngest family members why do we often times shew them away from under-foot to another room so we can be more productive.

When, if we would engage them in our "chores" our day might be a lot different. They can dust a table top, pick up socks, wipe a window, or put shoes away.

Chores would be done. Less messes made by little ones unattended in the other room. And one day, they will have the life skills that they need to be all that God calls them to be.

But if we engage them in our day and make them a part of what we do we must watch ourselves carefully! For one day we will find them on their bed reading a book and "nursing" their baby under a blanket.

I have no idea where she saw that!!
