Please Pray for my Family

Yesterday my husband was laid off from his job. He was given no notice. They handed him his last check and said "Sorry". He knew the job was coming to an end, but also thought they would have more work lined up (he is a journeyman electrician). It was quite the blow and we are trying to figure this all out. They say they may have more work for him in a month or so. My husband should qualify for unemployment and we are looking into that, but even that will take several weeks to process. Please lift us up in prayer. It is hard to trust right now as our financial situation is not good. I know we are to trust God in all times though and that is all we can do!

Thank you for your prayers,
Beth

I am praying! I know what you are going through, my husband lost his job almost 2 months ago, and he isnt getting unemployment. I turned it into something positive, and went and enrolled in school.

Good Luck!

I am so sorry to hear. I completely understand though. I was laid off from my job in Feb. 2009. It was a blow, but with my creative budgeting; we pulled through. Then I found out I was pregnant a few months later, which put a wrench in my job search and I became a stay at home mom. In this economy, I couldn't find a job that could even cover the cost of child care!

Then, on Thanksgiving last year, my husband lost his job unexpectedly. It took 6 months before he was able to get into a new position and it meant moving 3 hours away. He has been working for a month now and loves his job and the company. We are trying to sell our house and are living with family so that he can commute to work until we can sell and afford our own place again.

It takes creativity, but just remember that this time with your husband is also a blessing. Don't let the worry and fear overtake the joyous moments that you get to have together. This could be some of the the best time for him and your children. You can reconnect as a couple and have quality family time together. Please contact me if you need any tips, pointers or help getting through this time. And remember that God will never give you more than you can handle.

My prayers are with you and your husband.

Thanks for all the prayers and words of encouragement. I need them right now. It is never comforting being in these types of situations. I hate not knowing what will become of us, but yes, trying hard to stay strong. God knows our every need and has already showed himself faithful. Some friends blessed us with a grocery gift card today and I sold an ad spot on my blog! Yay, for small miracles! He is faithful! I will keep you all updated. Keep those prayers coming!

Much love,
Beth

Praying that God will fill you with His peace and comfort. He is faithful and loving. I pray that this situation brings you closer to Him and each other as a couple and as a family. We have been and are going though this. We serve an amazing God who will meet all our needs in the most unexpected ways. Even when He doesn't give us the answer we want, we can trust that He has our best in mind. It helps me to keep a blessing journal- writing down the ways He takes care of us, how He has changed my heart, any seemingly little thing I can recall about the day to help me to remember He will do what He said, especially when I am feeling stressed about how a need will be met when there doesn't seem to be a way to do it on our own. God loves you!
In Christ,
ElizaBeth

We got hit hard too Beth, for about a year my husband (our only income) was at 90%, then down to 75% right before Christmas and at 50% this spring. He had news that a new contract will hold us over now for about a year. I will pray for your family for sure as we know all too well how stressful it is. One thing is sure, you have lots of friends and support and prayers in numbers helps SO much! Life is good, even when it's bad.

I understand what your going through so completely right now. We went through this 3 years ago. Matthew was laid off for a year. It was one of the hardest times of our marriage, but we came through it, and now we are so thankful for our "wilderness" we experienced. It brought us closer to God, we leaned more on him, and we wouldn't trade that year for anything!

Blessings started pouring out on us during that whole year and even into the next two. Be ready to be blessed. Keep looking up, and know I am praying for you. UPDATE us often.
