Oh Baby! Extravaganza - Lansinoh Affinity Double Electric Breast Pump Review and Giveaway!!!

When I became pregnant with our first child breastfeeding seemed like the obvious choice. For me it wasn't even really a choice it's just how you feed a baby. I have since learned that for some it isn't so simple. There can be issues with milk supply, improper latch... and for some the biggest challenge is going back to work. Any mom can benefit from having a good quality breast pump, but for mom's who have these struggles, a breast pump can be essential. For me it is about having the luxury to spend an evening out with my husband and occasionally lunch with a friend. All of these things brings me to the whole point of this post. Lansinoh is one of the leading companies in breastfeeding products. I was more than excited to try it out. I had owned one pump in the past and it left me feeling tender and bruised, my nipples were normally purple when I was finished. Not a very enjoyable experience to say the least! Nor was it very effective. I was pleased (and relieved) to have a completely different experience with Lansinoh's Affinity pump. Here are my favorite things:

Custom Expression: There are 2 settings that ensure you get the most milk possible. First it starts with "Let Down mode" which is a quicker suction to help trigger your let down. After 2 minutes it automatically switches to "Expression mode", if you let down sooner you can hit the let down button and it switches over instantly. This setting is a slightly stronger, longer and slower suction. Think of your babes long gulps after your milk lets down. You can also customize the power of the suction  This set up makes for a highly effective breast pump because it replicates a babies natural suction pattern and it is the first time I have seen a pump offer this feature.

Easy: The controls are very easy to understand. There is a set of buttons for each side so you can have different levels of suction for each breast if you need it. The only other buttons are the power and let down buttons and those are easy enough to handle! I particularly love the timer on the screen, I always forget to check either what time I started or what time I finished. This timer turns on and off automatically with the power button. It is simple to switch from pumping with two or one. Simply remove one tube and put the little cap over to prevent suction on the other side.

 

Any mom who is wanting to breastfeed will find the Affinity Double Electric Breast Pump is a must have!  It is very comfortable to use with perfect suction that doesn't leave your breasts feeling tender. It is extremely effective in milk extraction and will be a helper to any mom who wants to store up milk for her little ones.
