EcoVessel Boulder Triple Insulated Water Bottle and Insulated Sippy Cup Review & Giveaway!

With summer fast approaching it is becoming necessary to bring water with us everywhere we go. There are a few reasons I don't like using plastic water bottles for this. For one when they get hot the plastic releases chemicals into the water, the same happens if you freeze the water and let it thaw to keep it cold. I also don't like that I have to keep spending money on them, only to eventually throw it away again nor do I like that they just don't stay cool. Nobody likes opening a bottle of refreshing water on a sweltering day only to find that it is not refreshing. For all of those reasons and more it was important to me that I find stainless steel water bottles for our family. I was beyond thrilled when EcoVessel offered to let me test their Boulder Triple Insulated Water Bottle and their Insulated Sippy Cup for our son.

EcoVessel is a U.S. company based in Boulder, Colorado. Their goal is to create practical products that are high in quality, safe and sustainable. All of their products are BPA free and 100% recyclable making them a healthy and green choice. Not only am I comited to supporting U.S. companies but I am passionate about supporting companies that are healthy for my family and healthy for the earth. I feel confident that my money is well spent!

Their Boulder Triple Insulated Water Bottle has some really fantastic features! It is made from food grade stainless steel (except the mouth piece and strap) and has no BPA, phthalates or liners so it can be used without any concern of chemicals finding their way into our water. Those are the more important features, here are some of my favorite conveniences:

Triple Insulation. This was something I was excited about because I am notorious for leaving my water bottle in the car and getting back only to find hot water. Not fun! The Boulder water bottle keeps your drinks cold for up to 36 hours! I have to admit I was skeptical when I first read that but it wasn't long before I once again forgot my water bottle in the car all day and then over night. It was a particularly hot day and that following morning was pretty warm as well so when I got into the car and saw my water bottle I was very pleasantly surprised to find fresh tasting cold water. EcoVessel, I am impressed! Not only will it keep your beverage cold, but it can also keep it hot for 12 hours. It also has a nifty little screen that will help filter out any loose tea or coffee grains floating around in your water!

Wide Mouth.  When my husband heard that I was reviewing a stainless steel water bottle he laughed. You see, I am incredibly picky about the mouth pieces. I absolutely hate trying to drink from a snap spouts because they are often difficult to get water from quickly. I was ready to feel the same about this water bottle but when I removed the top I was very excited (possibly overly excited) to find that it is not a snap top. I love it! When you completely remove the lid you have that wide mouth opening allowing you to easily add ice. When you remove just the cap you find you have an open spout allowing you the freedom to get your water without any sloshing.

The Insulated Sippy is just as wonderful! Just like all their water bottles this is a competely BPA, phthalates and liner free sippy cup. It keeps drinks cool for up to 12 hours, something that is often important with little ones. You want the freedom to give them milk or juice without worrying it will be sour by the end of the day. At one point I had given our son milk and when I grabbed the cup a couple hours later the outside was quite warm, I was worried so I opened it to check and found the contents to still be nice and cool. It also accomodates an Avent spout and ring so if you want or need additional spouts it is easy to fit them to this sippy cup. Some of my favorite features:

Easy To Clean. I often avoid using milk or juice in sippy cups because you get that "cooler smell" if they aren't cleaned right away and it is often hard to get the leak stopper and mouth piece completely clean. The design of the stopper makes it very easy to clean and I had no difficulty getting the mouth piece clean. Because of the stainless steel it does not retain any of the smell of its contents which is great!

10 oz Size. I have been on the hunt for a sippy cup that would contain enough liquid for my son. Most contain between 6-8 oz but this Insulated Sippy Cup holds 10! I rarely need to refill it while we are out and my son has plenty of water/milk/juice to keep him happy and hydrated. It is also not so big that it is hard for our son to use. His other sippies don't have handles so he really enjoys being able to drag carry it wherever he goes.

Overall I was extremely pleased with the quality and design of EcoVessels products. I would (and have already) highly recommend them to anyone looking for a durable, long term water bottle. The Boulder is multi-functional allowing for the use of both hot and cold liquid, thus making it an even greater investment. The sippy cup is durable and even though it has been dropped countless time already, is not showing any signs of leaking. I also found that their prices are great when looking at the standard cost of stainless steel water bottles with less features. If the Boulder or Sippy aren't quite what you are looking for, be sure to check out their website.
