It's a Small Small World

There is a job that all around the world requires the same selfless acts, the same humble service, and the same (mostly) thankless accomplishments. And that job is...

This job is so hard and yet so rewarding. I can't think of any other job that can be so heart wrenching and yet so rewarding in the same day. From the cries of a hurting child to a sleeping baby at your breast, from a teenager late for curfew, to a toddler that says "Momma" for the first time. The days can be filled with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.

But no matter what your day brings remember you are loved and God cares about what you are doing. Even in the small meaningless tasks, He cares. Wiping noses, washing socks, or fixing a meal He has a specific desire for us in mind.

1 Corinthians 10:31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

He wants us to do it for His glory. He cares about your day. WHATEVER we do it should be for God's glory. But if we are focused on what we wanted out of a day and not on glorifying God no matter what we find ourselves doing than are we obey this verse of God's Word?

Baby "J" making a BIG mess for momma to clean up.
It is mind blowing to me that I can glorify God while in the confines of my home with only my children. Just showing them a tender heart that finds joy is fulfilling the calling of God in her life is glorifying to Him. By washing the dishes with a smile on my face and by brushing off their knee with a gentle touch when they fall I am showing them the love of God and bringing glory to Him.

Me and my "Baby" girl
So, mothers, no matter what corner of this globe you may find yourself on, remember that what you are doing does matter. And it not only matters for today or tomorrow, but you are impacting lives for eternity. For if they see the love of God in you and they watch you glorify God through the everyday tasks around your home, they will come to love God and to trust Him with their life. And one day, you will walk the streets of Heaven with those very souls that you molded and it will all be worth it.

Now, my dear sisters, friends, and fellow mothers, go glorify God!!!
