Sweet and Sour Meatballs Recipe

This recipe is one of our top 10 favorite meals to eat for dinner. It is so easy and can be cooked on the stove or in the crock pot. I am not sure where the original recipe came from, we've been eating it for years and I have perfected it for our taste buds. My husband loves eating it with mashed potatoes (ya... he's kinda strange! Sorry babe!) but I prefer it with jasmine or brown rice and homemade egg rolls (another recipe I'll be sharing soon!). We all enjoy this with meatballs, but it is also really tasty to make with chicken or you can only make the sauce and use it for dipping. Yum!

Sweet and Sour Meatballs

 (or Jeanno Breakfast Sausage)
1 egg
1/2 c Oatmeal
1tbs Soy Sauce

1 1/4 Ketchup
1/2 c Brown Sugar
1 tbs Soy Sausage
1 sm can Chunk Pineapple
1-3 tbs Pineapple Juice

To your sausage add soy sauce, egg and oats. Mix around by hand or with your mixer.

Roll into meatballs. You can do whatever size you like, for this meal I usually make them fairly big.

Put meatballs into a hot pan and begin browning on all sides. Do not cook the meat all the way through. You will probably need to do this in batches.

While your meatballs are browning, start mixing together the ketchup  sugar, soy sauce, pineapple and pineapple juice for the sauce.

Once all the meatballs are finished browning, put them back into the pan. Poor the sauce over the top and cook on low with a lid on. This part takes about 10-15 minutes and is a good time to start your rice. Once your rice and meatballs are ready to eat, serve up and enjoy!

These really have a ton of flavor. Writing this post is making my mouth water! They are not spicy so they are a perfect family dinner, hope you like it!
