Welcome To Modestly Adorned!

Modestly Adorned is finally here! We have been working hard to put together a great event for all of you and I am so excited to finally begin sharing with you! Since today is the first day, I thought the perfect way to start off Modestly Adorned was by taking a look at what God has to say about modesty. Since beginning preparation for this event God has done a lot of work in my heart. He really brought to light the areas in which I am not modest. This has been in my wardrobe a bit, but mostly in my heart. I hope this event is as much a blessing to you as it has been to me!

Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.
1 Timothy 2:9-10

Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised!
Proverbs 31:30

Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct. Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. 1 Peter 3:1-4

Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman without discretion.
Proverbs 11:22

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

And on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty..
1  Corinthians 12:23

Every day for the next 2 weeks we will be diving deeper into what these scriptures mean and how they affect our inward and outward appearance. We will also have a few fun giveaways so make sure you check back in!

What are some of your favorite scriptures regarding modesty? How does this reflect in your life?

Thank you for this meme! I shared my post and the verses that really spoke to me. I am encouraged by you doing this carnival to inspire others to modesty of clothing and heart.

Blessings<><
